Hyderabad : The Telangana High Court on Sunday directed the Chief Secretary to remove A.V. Ranganath from the post of HYDRAA Commissioner, observing that repeated violations of court orders by a senior officer were unacceptable.

Court cites repeated contempt proceedings

The High Court noted that 63 contempt petitions were pending against Ranganath. It observed that an officer holding such a senior position should not repeatedly disregard judicial directions and stressed that compliance with court orders was mandatory.

Court questions repeated disobedience of judicial orders

The bench remarked that repeated non-compliance with court directions by a senior official was inappropriate and directed the Chief Secretary to take steps to remove Ranganath from the post of HYDRAA Commissioner. The observations came during the hearing of contempt proceedings related to alleged violations of earlier court orders.
