Telangana High Court ruling on Sanghi Polymers electricity dues

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday set aside a memo permitting an increase in ticket prices for the film Raja Saab, dealing a setback to its producers.

No ticket hike, court notes

The court observed that a minister had already stated that ticket prices would not be increased and directed that tickets must be sold at the old rates.

The bench ordered theatres to continue charging the existing prices and not collect any additional amount from moviegoers.

Court pulls up officials

The High Court came down heavily on officials for issuing the memo and questioned whether they were aware of the rules governing ticket pricing.

“How was permission granted to increase ticket prices?” the court asked, remarking that officials appeared to be issuing memos in a calculated manner. It reiterated that ticket rates must remain unchanged and issued fresh orders to that effect.
