Telangana High Court issues notices to Speaker, MLAs

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has issued notices to the Speaker and seven Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in connection with a petition filed by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The court took up a petition filed by BRS after the Speaker gave a clean chit to MLAs who switched parties.
Court hears BRS plea over defection clean chit
The bench, after hearing the petition, directed the seven MLAs and the Speaker to respond to the allegations related to party defections.
BRS approached the court challenging the Speaker’s decision to clear ten MLAs who defected from the party.
Next hearing posted for April 16, counters sought
The High Court asked the seven MLAs to file their counters and adjourned the hearing to April 16.
