Heavy overnight rains batter Telangana; Bhoothpur records 112 mm

HYDERABAD: Massive and widespread rainfall lashed several districts across south, central and western Telangana during the overnight hours, bringing significant precipitation to many areas.

Among the districts that received heavy rain were Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool, Gadwal, Narayanpet, Nizamabad and Vikarabad.

Bhoothpur in Mahabubnagar district recorded the state’s highest rainfall at 112 mm, according to rainfall data.

The overnight spell was marked by widespread and steady showers across large parts of Telangana. The rain brought relief from prevailing heat conditions and led to water accumulation in some low-lying areas.

In Hyderabad, steady rainfall continued through the night across several localities.

Malkajgiri records highest rainfall in GHMC limits

Within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, Malkajgiri recorded the highest rainfall at 21.3 mm.

Weather conditions remained cloudy in several parts of the city on Wednesday morning following the overnight rainfall activity.
