Temperatures hit 45°C in Telangana; storms forecast in parts

HYDERABAD: An intense heatwave has gripped most parts of Telangana, with eastern districts such as Suryapet, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda and Warangal recording extreme temperatures.
Day temperatures hovered around 44–45°C in districts including Asifabad, Mancherial, Warangal, Bhadradri, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet. In Hyderabad, temperatures were slightly lower but still severe, ranging between 42–43°C.
Rain, thunderstorms expected in select pockets
Weather conditions may shift in parts of the state, with heatwave-induced isolated rainfall and thunderstorms likely in Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad and Sangareddy within the next two hours.
Officials indicated that these short spells of rain are typical during intense heat conditions, offering temporary relief but not significantly altering the overall temperature trend.
Dry spell continues in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is expected to witness continued dry weather despite the prevailing heatwave. No immediate rainfall activity has been forecast for the city.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during peak hours, as extreme temperatures persist across the state.
