North Telangana braces for 45°C heatwave; storms likely in south
HYDERABAD: Large parts of north Telangana are likely to remain under intense heatwave conditions, with temperatures expected to touch 44°C to 45°C in several districts over the next 24 hours.
Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu are expected to record the highest daytime temperatures.
Weather officials have also forecast isolated intense thunderstorms in parts of southern Telangana, including Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal, Narayanpet, Vikarabad and Mahabubnagar districts. Thunderstorm activity is likely from afternoon till late night, accompanied by gusty winds in isolated places.
Hyderabad is expected to witness largely dry weather conditions, though isolated light rain activity may occur in some parts of the city during evening hours.
The sharp rise in temperatures has increased discomfort levels across Telangana, with residents advised to avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated.
