Telangana reels under severe heatwave as temperatures near 47°C

HYDERABAD: Telangana continued to reel under intense heatwave conditions on Thursday, with temperatures nearing 47°C for the second consecutive day across several districts.
According to data released by the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), Munagala in Suryapet district recorded the highest temperature of 46.5°C. Mutharam in Manthani division of Peddapalli district also touched 46.5°C.
Several other locations reported temperatures above 46°C. Mandamarri in Mancherial, Dharmapuri in Jagtial, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Wyra in Khammam, Palwancha in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Venkatapur in Mulugu and Kaleshwaram in Jayashankar Bhupalpally recorded 46.4°C.
Kattangoor in Nalgonda, Kamalapur in Hanamkonda, Gangadhara in Karimnagar and Vemulawada Rural in Rajanna Sircilla also registered 46.4°C.
Bhongir in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Mamda in Nirmal, Mortad in Nizamabad and Kuravi in Mahabubabad recorded 46.3°C. Jainad in Adilabad and Nallabelly in Warangal touched 46.2°C.
Akkanpet in Siddipet recorded 46.1°C, while Dongli in Kamareddy registered 45.9°C. Chilpur in Jangaon recorded 45.5°C and Shankarampet in Medak touched 45.1°C. Madgul in Rangareddy district recorded 44.9°C.
Weather observers said peak heatwave conditions are expected to continue across Telangana for the next four to five days, with no immediate relief in sight.
