HYDERABAD: Telangana is witnessing a steady rise in temperatures, with summer conditions setting in from the second week of February.

Maximum temperatures between 35°C and 38°C have already been recorded in several parts of the state, officials of the India Meteorological Department said. They added that temperatures are likely to rise further in the coming days.

Heat intensifies across multiple districts

Cold conditions have almost disappeared. While slight chill was felt during early mornings and nights until a few days ago, it has now subsided completely.

Humid weather prevails across the state. Roads in several areas remain largely deserted during afternoon hours.

IMD forecasts sharper rise from March

Officials at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said daytime temperatures are recording higher values, though mild chill continues during mornings and evenings in some places.

Maximum temperatures of up to 33°C are being recorded in parts of Telangana, they said. The heat is more intense in districts such as Nalgonda, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar.

Even in agency areas like Adilabad, cold conditions have reduced and temperatures are gradually increasing.

The department has forecast a further spike in temperatures from March and warned that people may face heat-related discomfort for the next three months.
