Telangana HC orders Sandeep Sultania’s arrest in contempt case
HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court ordered the Hyderabad police commissioner to arrest IAS officer Sandeep Kumar Sultania and produce him before the court at 10.30am on Friday in a contempt case concerning funds payable to the Secunderabad Cantonment Board.
The contempt petition was filed by advocate Subrahmanyam Yadav after authorities allegedly failed to act despite an earlier high court order concerning the payment of funds to the cantonment board.
Court takes exception to non-compliance with earlier order
The high court had earlier directed Sultania to appear before it. However, he did not appear and also failed to file a counter, prompting the court to take a serious view of the matter.
The court issued a Form 1 notice to Sultania and directed the Hyderabad police commissioner to arrest him.
Police told to produce IAS officer Friday morning
The court directed the police commissioner to produce Sultania before it at 10.30am on Friday.
It further ordered that if Sultania gives an undertaking that he will appear before the court, he should be released on a personal bond of ₹ 5,000.
