HYDERABAD: Telangana’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate stands at 10.7% for 2025–26, higher than the national average of 8%, according to the Telangana Socio-Economic Survey 2026.

The state’s GSDP rose from ₹16.09 lakh crore last year to ₹17.82 lakh crore. Telangana’s share in India’s Gross Domestic Product increased from 4.87% to 4.99%.

The services sector remains the key driver of both national and state Gross State Value Added. Strong growth in information technology, trade, transport, communications, finance and professional services has pushed its share higher. In Telangana, the services sector accounts for 68.6% of total output, compared with the national average of 56.4%.

Compared with last year, the primary sector grew by 1.4%, the secondary sector by 9.4%, and the services sector by 13.5%, all higher than national averages. Within the primary sector, livestock leads with a 41.4% share, followed by crop production at 38.2%. The sector also includes agriculture, allied activities, mining and quarrying.

In district-level output, Rangareddy district ranks first, followed by Hyderabad and Medchal. These districts record higher economic output due to the presence of major information technology parks, pharmaceutical and biotechnology hubs, industrial parks, corporate headquarters, digital infrastructure and urbanisation.

Districts such as Sirisilla, Asifabad, Bhupalpally and Mulugu lag behind due to higher forest cover and lower levels of industrial and urban development.
