Telangana govt unveils Hyderabad metro phase 2 expansion plans
HYDERABAD: Telangana government announced on Monday the finalization of plans for the second phase expansion of the Hyderabad Metro, introducing seven new metro corridors that cover a combined stretch of 70 kilometers. These corridors are strategically designed to enhance connectivity across key areas within the city.
Corridor 1 : MGBS Metro Station to Falaknuma (5.5 km)
This corridor establishes a crucial link between the MGBS Metro Station and Falaknuma, spanning a distance of 5.5 kilometers.
Corridor 2 : Falaknuma to Chandrayangutta Cross Road (1.5 km)
Connecting Falaknuma to Chandrayangutta Cross Road, this 1.5-kilometer stretch aims to streamline intra-city travel.
Corridor 3 : Nagole Metro Station to LB Nagar Metro Station, Chandrayangutta Cross Road, Mailardevpally, P7 Road to Shamshabad Airport (29 km)
Covering a substantial distance of 29 kilometers, Corridor 4 is poised to be a crucial route, connecting Nagole Metro Station to LB Nagar Metro Station, Chandrayangutta Cross Road, Mailardevpally, P7 Road, and culminating at the strategically important Shamshabad Airport.
Corridor 5 Extension : Mylardevpally to Proposed High Court at Rajendra Nagar via Aramghar (4 km)
A 4-kilometer extension of Corridor 4, this route is envisioned to connect Mylardevpally to the proposed High Court at Rajendra Nagar via Aramghar
Corridor 6 : Rayadurg Metro Station to Biodiversity Junction, Nanakramguda Junction, Wipro Junction, and American Consulate (Financial District) (8 km)
Stretching over 8 kilometers, Corridor 5 will link Rayadurg Metro Station to key destinations such as Biodiversity Junction, Nanakramguda Junction, Wipro Junction, and the American Consulate in the Financial District.
Corridor 7 : Miyapur Metro Station to Patancheru via BHEL (14 km)
Connecting Miyapur Metro Station to Patancheru via BHEL, Corridor 6 covers a distance of 14 kilometers, facilitating improved connectivity to industrial areas.
Corridor 7 : LB Nagar Metro Station to Vanasthalipuram and Hayat Nagar (8 km)
Corridor 7, spanning 8 kilometers, will connect LB Nagar Metro Station to Vanasthalipuram and Hayat Nagar, further bolstering last-mile connectivity.
