Telangana government to give Rs.1 lakh to UPSC aspirants, here is how to apply
Hyderabad: As a part of Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastham Scheme that was launched by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the state government is set to give financial support of Rs.1 lakh to those UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) aspirants who are qualified for the Mains examinations. It should be noted that the scheme was launched as a part of the Singareni Collieries Corporate Social Responsibility task.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
In order to avail the financial benefits, one must be a permanent resident of Telangana state and should belong to the Economically Weaker Sections/Backward Class/Scheduled Class or the Scheduled Tribe category. The annual income of the candidate’s family income should be less than Rs.8 lakhs. Permanent employees of any government, be it, state, central or any other sectors are not eligible for this financial assistance.
The candidate should also have passed the preliminary examinations conducted by the UPSC. And this assistance would be provided to the candidate only once.
Telangana and the UPSC
The state government in its release stated that it estimates that there are around 14 lakhs of people appearing for the Civils Preliminary Examination across the country. From among them, there are around 50,000 people from Telangana state, who would be applying for the preliminary examination of the UPSC,
However, the number of people who would clear the Preliminary and enter the Mains would stand at around 400-500 approximately. And all these candidates, whoever is eligible based on the above criteria can avail the cash incentive of Rs.1 lakh each.
Meanwhile, the state government has also announced that it would release the job calendar in the next assembly session after discussing with all the departments and knowing about the vacancies. Revanth Reddy further promised that this would be annual taks from now on and every year by January 2, the job aspirants can expect notifications in the concerned departments.
