Telangana government doctors seek reforms
Hyderabad: Telangana Government Doctors’ Association (TGGDA) demand to abolish GO 142, time-bound promotion, revise rural and tribal allowances, and cancel or relax the mandatory credit hours requirement for government doctors during registration renewal.
The key demands of the Telangana Government Doctors’ Association (TGGDA) focus on professional advancement and work conditions. The requests include creating a separate seniority list for certain medical categories, and introducing a time-bound promotion system for medical officers.
The association called for an increase in service quota for postgraduate and super-specialty admissions. They proposed enhancements to rural and tribal allowances, suggesting 30% and 50% of basic pay respectively to encourage service in underserved regions.
TGGDA urged expediting promotions to Civil Surgeon positions and requested an emergency healthcare allowance for district hospital doctors. The association proposed extending vehicle facilities to medical officers in remote areas.
Government doctors advocate for relaxation of mandatory credit hours
Further, the association addressed the challenges of mandatory credit hours for registration renewal. Doctors highlighted their demanding work schedules, including night shifts, emergency surgeries, post-mortems, and national health program implementation.
The association emphasized the difficulty of attending Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs due to unpredictable work schedules across healthcare institutions, including Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad(TVVP) and ESI institutions.
TGGDA sought relaxation or cancellation of the mandatory credit hours requirement for government doctors. The association assured continued commitment to professional development and patient care.
