Food Safety Department suspends licences of two Sangareddy dairy units
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Food Safety Department has suspended the licences of two dairy units in Sangareddy after inspectors found multiple food safety violations during inspections on July 7 and 8.
The Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana, carried out the inspections to protect public health. Officials found misbranded dairy products, misleading product claims, poor hygiene, inadequate record maintenance, improper storage, pest infestation and structural deficiencies.
Inspectors identified Keston Curd and Divya Curds as misbranded products. They also found misleading claims on Keston Paneer. In addition, the teams discovered that the units used expired laboratory reagents and chemicals for food testing.
Inspectors find several safety violations
Officials said the dairy units failed to maintain proper product traceability and records. They also observed unsafe food handling practices, pest infestation and poor infrastructure, all of which could affect food safety.
Based on these findings, the department suspended the licences of M/s Saraswathi Dairy Products India Pvt. Ltd. and Divya Enterprises, both located in Sangareddy.
Officials seize cream and collect food samples
During the enforcement drive, officials seized 3,800 kg of cream worth ₹9.22 lakh. They also collected samples of milk, curd and paneer for laboratory testing.
The Food Safety Department said it will take further action after receiving the laboratory test reports. It also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that consumers receive safe, hygienic and properly labelled food products.
