Fathi To Close Colleges From November 3 If ₹900 Crore Dues Unpaid

HYDERABAD: The Federation of Association of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI) on Sunday expressed serious concern over the state government’s delay in clearing fee reimbursement arrears.

At its emergency general body meeting held on Sunday afternoon, FATHI passed several resolutions demanding immediate release of funds.

Only ₹300 crore released against ₹1,200 crore promise

FATHI chairman N Ramesh Babu and secretary general K S Ravikumar criticised the government for releasing only ₹300 crore against the promised ₹1,200 crore before Diwali.

They demanded that the government release the remaining ₹900 crore by November 1 in line with its commitment. If the dues are not cleared by then, they warned, all higher educational institutions across the state would consider shutting down from November 3.

Federation seeks clear roadmap for payments

The federation also urged the state government to announce a clear roadmap for fee reimbursement payments and arrear clearances. FATHI further sought specific guidelines for the issue of no-objection certificates for courses approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
