Telangana Farmers Receive ₹14,200 Crore Through PM-KISAN

HYDERABAD: Telangana Farmers received Rs 599.31 crore under the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, released on November 19, 2025. This was revealed in a written reply by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ramnath Thakur, in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

More than 29.96 lakh farmers in Telangana benefited from the PM-KISAN scheme of the Union Government. The data, provided in response to a question by Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri, offers a district-wise breakdown of beneficiaries for the latest instalment. Nalgonda district leads with the highest number of beneficiaries with 2,03,707 farmers receiving Rs 40.74 crore, followed by Khammam with 1,55,856 beneficiaries, Rs 31.17 crore and Nagarkurnool with 1,38,180 beneficiaries receiving Rs 27.64 crore. Further, Medchal Malkajgiri has the fewest registered beneficiaries at 10,378.

Funds Received

Since the scheme’s inception in February 2019, a cumulative amount of Rs 14,236.18 crore has been transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts in Telangana. Nationally, over Rs 4.09 lakh crore has been disbursed through 21 instalments.

Addressing concerns about ineligible or duplicate beneficiaries, the Minister stated that the government has implemented robust technological cross-verification measures. The PM-KISAN database is regularly checked against the PDS ration card database, UIDAI records (including deactivated Aadhaar due to death), PFMS, and Income Tax data to weed out duplicates. Benefits have been stopped in cases where multiple family members were enrolled, or where both the previous and current landowners were registered after an inheritance transfer.
