Excise dept seizes 14.95 kg ganja in Hyderabad; three arrested in two raids

HYDERABAD: The Telangana excise department seized 14.95 kg of ganja and arrested three persons in two separate enforcement operations on November 23.
7.75 kg seized in LB Nagar Circle
In the first case, the Ranga Reddy enforcement team arrested Katta Ganesh, a resident of Jagtial district’s Sarangapur mandal, after seizing 7.75 kg of ganja from him. Officials conducted raids in the LB Nagar Circle area following a tip-off that ganja was being sold there.
Investigators found that Ganesh was using the substance and supplying it to friends and customers. The seized ganja and the accused were handed over at the Saroornagar excise station.
Two arrested in Hafeezpet with 7.2 kg
In the second incident, the excise department’s special task force apprehended Sravanapu Nitish Kumar Reddy and Chelimela Vijayakumar, both natives of Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, near the Hafeezpet flyover while they were allegedly selling ganja.
Officials seized 7.2 kg of the contraband from them. Subsequent checks revealed that the duo had been residing at Old Customs Colony in Begumpet. They were handed over along with the seized material to the Serilingampalli excise station.
