In their announcement, the committee highlighted the severe disruption caused by the cyclone and incessant rains, which have paralysed daily life, caused substantial loss of life, and devastated crops and property. The widespread damage has significantly impacted cattle and birds, with losses totaling thousands of crores. In response, the committee resolved to contribute one day’s basic salary to support relief efforts.

The JAC committee has requested the Chief Minister to credit this amount to the government exchequer from the September salaries of Telangana’s employees, gazetted officers, teachers, workers, pensioners, and contract outsourcing staff.
