Telangana voter enumeration drive covers 85% electorate
HYDERABAD: The State Election Office has distributed 2.88 crore enumeration forms, covering about 85 per cent of voters who were on the electoral rolls during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.
Wanaparthy recorded the highest coverage at 99.56 per cent, while Medchal Malkajgiri reported the lowest at 55.63 per cent.
According to officials, Hyderabad district, which has 14 Assembly constituencies and 29,71,175 voters, had covered 62.73 per cent of the electorate by Saturday. Rangareddy district covered 27,24,927 voters, accounting for 73.65 per cent of its electorate.
Among the remaining districts, only Mancherial and Sangareddy reported coverage below 90 per cent. Mancherial recorded 85.92 per cent coverage, while Sangareddy stood at 88.71 per cent.
The Election Commission of India has also begun digitising the enumeration forms received during the exercise. Officials said 4.25 per cent of the forms had been digitised so far.
An official said the digitisation process would be completed as soon as all the enumeration forms were received.
