Telangana DSP’s Diary Becomes Key Evidence, Reveals Alleged Benami Assets: ACB
HYDERABAD: A personal diary allegedly written by Telangana Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sankireddy Bheem Reddy before leaving on the Char Dham Yatra has become a crucial piece of evidence in the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) disproportionate assets (DA) case against him.
Diary lists assets and family instructions
According to the ACB, Bheem Reddy wrote the diary before undertaking the pilgrimage with his wife in May. He allegedly listed nearly 20 assets, receivables and liabilities. He also recorded instructions on how family members should divide the properties.
Investigators said he scanned photographs of the diary pages and sent them to his two sons on WhatsApp before the couple travelled to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath during the second and third weeks of May.
Alleged benami properties detailed
The ACB said the diary described properties owned directly and through alleged benami holders. It also recorded debts and identified people familiar with the transactions.
Among the properties were two flats in Tellapur allegedly held in the name of a watchman. The diary stated that the flats should remain common family property.
Another entry referred to a share in a G+5 commercial complex on a 500-square yard plot on Lanco Hills Road in Manikonda. The diary described it as common family property.
It also mentioned a G+2 building with a penthouse in Telecom Nagar, Gachibowli. Investigators said Bheem Reddy planned to transfer it temporarily to the name of a close relative.
The diary further listed 45 acres in Zaheerabad and adjoining areas of Karnataka allegedly held in the name of a former home guard. It also mentioned two acres of agricultural land in Mominpet, Vikarabad district, and 4.2 acres in Muchintal.
Investigators said the diary identified the alleged benami holders and named mediators familiar with the transactions. It instructed family members to contact them if required.
Documents recovered during searches
The diary also mentioned a ₹2 crore business investment with the notation “come back.” It further set aside ₹60 lakh for the purchase of a villa.
“Bheem Reddy scanned the diary pages and shared the photographs with his two sons through WhatsApp,” an ACB official said.
During searches, ACB officials recovered title documents linked to properties allegedly owned by Bheem Reddy and his suspected benamis. They found the documents at his villa in the Vessella Meadows gated community and at the residence of his alleged business partner in Manikonda.
“We have recorded the business partner’s video statement regarding his transactions and the evidence seized from his house. Bheem Reddy and the partner have a share in the G+5 commercial property at Manikonda,” an ACB official said.
The ACB clarified that it has not included Bheem Reddy’s ancestral 13-acre holding in his native village in Mahbubnagar district in the DA case. The agency said the land is common family property shared by three members.
