Police hero feted: DGP lauds President’s Gallantry medal recipient Head Constable

Madhapur: Telangana Director General of Police Dr. Jitender has congratulated Head Constable Chaduvu Yadaiah of Madhapur CCS on being conferred the esteemed President’s Medal for Gallantry (PMG) by Government of India on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Jitender said, “ It is a matter of immense pride for the Telangana State police that Head Constable Yadaiah is the sole recipient of this highest honour in the country this year”.

The DGP commended Head Constable Yadaiah’s actions, highlighting his indomitable spirit and commitment to duty as exemplary. His brave action resulted in the arrest of two notorious criminals who were involved in chain snatching and arms dealing, earning him the prestigious President’s Medal for Gallantry.

Special program was organized today to acknowledge the exceptional bravery displayed by Head Constable Yadaiah. The DGP, accompanied by senior police officials including Additional DGPs Sanjay Kumar Jain and Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police M. Ramesh graced the occasion to honour the gallant officer.

Head Constable Yadaiah displayed extraordinary courage during a perilous robbery incident on July 25, 2022, involving notorious criminals Ishan Niranjan Neelamnalli and Rahul, who were involved in chain snatching and arms dealing.

Going further into details, On the evening of July 25, 2022, K. Kathyayini, a 72-year-old senior citizen, was robbed of her gold chain by two unknown individuals on a motorcycle while walking to her residence. Despite her bravery in holding onto part of the chain, she sustained injuries, and the robbers managed to escape with a significant portion of her gold chain.

Upon receiving the petition, Head Constable Yadaiah promptly organized an operation to apprehend the offenders, assisted by police constables M. Ravi and A. Dhebeash. They meticulously gathered evidence, including CCTV footage, which led to the identification of the culprits.

Following day, on July 26, 2022, the suspects were spotted at Bollaram cross road by constable M. Krishna. Head Constable Yadaiah and his team swiftly moved to the location to apprehend the suspects. Resisting apprehension, criminals viciously attacked Head Constable Yadaiah, stabbing him multiple times in the chest, back, hand, and stomach, resulting in severe injuries. Despite this, Sri Yadaiah, displayed remarkable courage and managed to capture both criminals.

Head Constable Yadaiah was hospitalized for 17 days due to the severity of his injuries. The captured criminals, Ishan Niranjan Neelamnalli (21) and Rahul (19), were later found to be involved in multiple crimes across regions, including terrorizing the Ashok Nagar Police Station in Gulbarga District, Karnataka, where they extorted valuables from the public and even threatened a watchman with an iron rod. The police team’s determination and bravery led to the recovery of stolen property, including gold ornaments, weapons, and mobile phones, further exposing the extent of the criminals’ activities.
