Telangana DCA seizes medicines worth ₹5.5 lakh

KARIMNAGAR: Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials raided an unlicensed medical shop in Choppadandi of Karimnagar district and seized medicines worth ₹5.51 lakh.
Officials said the raid was carried out after receiving information about the sale of medicines without a valid pharmacy licence. The seized stock has been taken into custody and further action is being initiated under the relevant provisions of the law.
Officials urge licence verification before purchase
The DCA advised the public to verify the licence status of pharmacies before purchasing medicines. Consumers can check whether a pharmacy holds a valid licence through the “Third-Party Verification” feature available on the DCA’s Online Drug Licensing System (ODLS) portal.
Officials said the verification facility is intended to help consumers identify authorised pharmacies and avoid purchasing medicines from unlicensed outlets.
