Telangana Congress suspends Teenmaar Mallanna over anti-party activities

Hyderabad: The Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has suspended Teenmaar Mallanna, also known as Chinthapandu Naveen, a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), for his involvement in anti-party activities.
Earlier, the DAC issued a show-cause notice to Teenmaar Mallanna on February 5, 2025, requesting an explanation for his actions. He was given until February 12, 2025, to submit a response. However, the DAC stated that it did not receive an explanation from Mallanna and that he continued to criticize the Congress Party. As a result, the committee decided to suspend him for his ongoing anti-party behavior.
The suspension orders, addressed to Teenmaar Mallanna, read, “The Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of TPCC has not received your explanation so far, and you are continuing your tirade against the Congress Party. Hence, the DAC has decided to suspend you from the Congress Party due to your anti-party activities.”
Teenmaar Mallanna’s Political Journey
Teenmaar Mallanna (Chinthapandu Naveen Kumar), born on January 17, 1983, is an Indian politician from Telangana. He was elected as an MLC in the 2024 Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate MLC by-election. Mallanna initially contested the 2015 MLC elections as a Congress candidate from the same constituency but finished third, with the BJP taking second place and BRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy winning. He also contested the Huzurnagar Assembly by-election in 2019 but lost his deposit after the resignation of sitting MLA N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
In 2021, Mallanna ran as an independent candidate in the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam MLC elections, securing 83,520 votes, though he lost to the BRS candidate, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who garnered 1,11,090 votes.
On November 8, 2023, Teenmaar Mallanna joined the Congress party. He was appointed as the Campaign Committee Convenor for the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections. Mallanna was named the Congress candidate for the 2024 Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduate MLC bypoll, which was held following the resignation of BRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who was elected to the Telangana Legislative Assembly in December 2023. Mallanna won the MLC by-election with the highest number of votes, as no candidate surpassed the required threshold of 1,55,095 after the first preference votes.
