Tpcc Complains To Ceo Over Alleged Mcc Violations By Brs Leaders In Jubilee Hills

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on November 11, 2025, lodged two separate complaints with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharshan Reddy, alleging that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs Padi Kaushik Reddy and D. Sudheer Reddy, along with corporators and other party leaders, were violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during polling in the 61-Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.

According to TPCC Election Commission Co-ordination Committee chairman P. Rajesh Kumar, the Congress received reports from local leaders that Kaushik Reddy and other BRS functionaries who are not residents or voters of Jubilee Hills were “roaming freely, campaigning, and influencing voters” in the area. The complaint alleged that they were intimidating voters and threatening “serious consequences” if votes were not cast in favour of the BRS.

Separate complaint against Sudheer Reddy for booth-level violations

In another representation, Rajesh Kumar alleged that D. Sudheer Reddy, BRS MLA from LB Nagar, was found near polling booths numbered 110 to 120 in Habeeb Fatima Nagar and Swaraj Nagar areas of Jubilee Hills, allegedly campaigning and influencing voters. The complaint said these acts disrupted free and fair polling.

TPCC seeks immediate restrictions and police deployment

The TPCC urged the CEO to immediately restrict the entry of non-resident BRS leaders into Jubilee Hills, deploy police at key entry points, and direct the local police to monitor and penalise violations under the MCC and the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The letter also requested the CEO to warn the BRS of possible disqualification or withdrawal of privileges for repeated violations.

Rajesh Kumar stated that such activities “threaten the democratic process and attract provisions of the Model Code of Conduct” and urged swift action to protect voter confidence in the ongoing bye-election.
