Telangana Cm Revanth Calls Emergency Meeting To Strengthen Security After Operation Sindoor

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called an emergency meeting with relevant officials today at 11:00 AM at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad. The meeting will focus on reviewing security arrangements following the execution of Operation Sindoor.

The review will include measures to secure key installations and strategic locations, including central, defense, and state government sites. The Telangana government has assured full cooperation with the National Armed Forces during this period.

CM Revanth Reddy will personally oversee the situation to ensure heightened security across Hyderabad and all other cities, towns, and villages in the state. The public has been urged to remain vigilant but reassured that both the Centre and the state are working together to ensure safety.

In a message on social media, CM Revanth Reddy expressed support for the armed forces, stating, “As an Indian citizen first, standing strongly with our armed forces. The strikes against terror factories in Pakistan & PoK make us proud. Let us make this a moment for national solidarity and unity, and all of us speak in one voice – Jai Hind! #OperationSindoor.”

Operation Sindoor, which was carried out early Wednesday morning on May 7, 2025, targeted nine suspected terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the strikes were precise, aimed at terror-related sites, and did not target any Pakistani military installations. The operation, which began at 1:44 AM IST, hit areas like Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Muridke, known to be hubs for groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The government confirmed that all Indian aircraft returned safely, and there were no civilian casualties.

As part of the Civil Defence Act of 1968, the Telangana government is also preparing for a nationwide mock drill, “Operation Abhyaas,” scheduled for 4:00 PM today. The exercise, aimed at improving civil defense preparedness for potential hostile attacks, will be conducted in Hyderabad and 244 other vulnerable districts across the country.

During the drill, sirens will sound throughout the city to simulate an incoming air raid. Emergency services, including police, fire services, and medical teams, will participate in the drill, which will last for two minutes.

Citizens are advised to stay alert and cooperate with authorities during the drill.
