Telangana government reorganises Hyderabad police into four commissionerates

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) has busted an alleged online betting racket involving transactions worth nearly ₹100 crore. The operation led to the identification of a nationwide betting network linked to cricket betting activities.

CID officials detained several individuals and launched an investigation after conducting raids in multiple states.

Raids Conducted Across Three States

The investigation began on the basis of a case registered in Karimnagar. The case came to light after a victim, who allegedly lost ₹6 lakh through a betting application, died.

Following the complaint, Telangana CID teams conducted searches in Delhi, Gujarat and Punjab.

Eleven Accused Identified in Case

According to investigators, the fraud was operated through a mobile application used for online betting activities. The CID has identified 11 accused in connection with the case.

Some suspects have been taken into custody and are being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
