Telangana CEO visits Belgium for poll management cooperation

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer delegation leaves for Belgium on election management visit

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy on Sunday left for Belgium on a three-day official visit to strengthen cooperation in election management and exchange best practices between the Election Commission of India and the Belgian Federal Public Service Interior.

The visit follows a formal invitation from Belgian authorities and aims to enhance the integrity, transparency and efficiency of electoral processes through institutional collaboration.

International engagement on elections
Reddy is leading a five-member delegation comprising Anudeep Durishetty, district election officer and collector of Khammam; Boyapati Chennaiah, state training nodal officer and special grade deputy collector in the CEO’s office; Kankanala Anantha Reddy, electoral registration officer of the 48-Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency; and Vemula Dhruva Kumar Reddy, booth level officer from polling station number 97 in the 63-Nampally Assembly constituency.

Meetings with officials and experts
During the visit, the delegation will meet senior officials of the Belgian Federal Public Service Interior and Foreign Affairs, interact with academic experts from KU Leuven University, and hold discussions with officials and service voters at the Indian Embassy in Brussels.

The programme is part of the international outreach initiative of the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management, which focuses on capacity-building in election administration, documenting global best practices and promoting India’s leadership in democratic governance.
