Telangana begins self-enumeration for Census 2027, online submission open till May 10

HYDERABAD: The self-enumeration process for Census 2027 began across Telangana at 6 am on Sunday. Residents can submit their household details online until May 10.
Officials said residents can upload information on the designated portal between 6 am and midnight each day. Meanwhile, in CURE (City Urban Regional Entity) areas—covering Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation—households must submit their data online.
The self-enumeration form includes 33 questions on household composition, caste category, ownership status and number of rooms. The process takes about 15–20 minutes. Once residents submit the form, the system generates a unique 11-digit Self Enumeration ID (SE ID) ending with ‘H’.
Residents can save drafts, preview entries, edit details and submit the final form. After submission, they must share the SE ID with enumerators during field verification.
Meanwhile, enumerators will start visiting households in CURE areas from May 11 to verify the data and update records.
Chief Principal Census Officer and Director Bharati Hollikeri said the government will keep the data secure. “The Census plays a key role in planning welfare schemes,” she said.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner R.V. Karnan and Press Information Bureau Deputy Director Manas Krishna Kanth attended the briefing.
Notably, for the first time, residents can upload their details online without submitting supporting documents at the initial stage.
