Three bullet train corridors sanctioned for Telangana, says CM Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday announced that the Centre has sanctioned three high-speed bullet train corridors for Telangana as part of seven projects approved nationwide.
The proposed routes will connect Hyderabad to Bengaluru, while Shamshabad will link to Pune, Amaravati, and Chennai. These corridors are expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost economic activity across the region.
Moreover, Reddy said the allocation of three corridors would transform Rangareddy district into a key growth engine. He also announced that the Future City Development Corporation office will be inaugurated by June 2.
The Chief Minister made these remarks after laying the foundation stone for the Future City Police Commissionerate. In addition, he reiterated the government’s vision to develop Hyderabad on the lines of global cities such as Singapore, Tokyo, and New York.
Reddy described the Bharat Future City project as a major initiative to attract global investment. Importantly, he emphasised that expanding the rail network will play a central role in this strategy.
Addressing land acquisition concerns, the Chief Minister assured farmers that the government would offer fair compensation and protect their interests. He stressed that officials will act with compassion, especially towards the poor and underprivileged.
Meanwhile, he directed officials to conduct gram sabhas so that residents can decide whether to include their villages within the new commissionerate and Future City limits.
Targeting the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Reddy alleged that some leaders are trying to obstruct the project. However, he urged the public not to take such criticism seriously and accused them of spreading misinformation.
Separately, the Chief Minister appealed to Maoists to surrender and join the mainstream. He assured them of rehabilitation, healthcare support, and safety.
The government has appointed State Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu as the point of contact for local grievances. Furthermore, officials will hold regular review meetings and actively invite investments into the Future City region.
Drawing a parallel with the Outer Ring Road project, Reddy said initial criticism will eventually give way to recognition. Ultimately, he expressed confidence that the Future City will emerge as a major development landmark.
