Telangana BJP demands SIT probe in Janwada farmhouse case
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP has demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the Janwada farmhouse party case in which Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KTR’s brother-in-law Raj Pakala was booked by Cyberabad police.
BJP MP Raghunandan Rao called on the Telangana government to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to thoroughly probe the incident, as illegal liquor was found at the party and one person tested positive for drugs.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday morning, Rao urged the state government to publicly release the CCTV footage from the farmhouse, emphasizing transparency and accountability.
“The state must take responsibility to conduct a fair and complete investigation, especially given the involvement of high-profile individuals,” the BJP leader told reporters.
Earlier, Union minister and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay alleged that Congress is working hand in glove with the BRS and will, therefore, shield the high-profile individuals in the case. In a video message, the BJP leader demanded that the Congress government order a thorough inquiry into the liquor party and prove to the public that it’s not colluding with the opposition party.
“We demand the Telangana police release all the CCTV footage in public. We also demand the seizure of the passports of high-profile individuals involved in the case. We trust the police. However, some police officers, due to their proximity to the previous regime, are allegedly trying to protect the individuals,” Bandi Sanjay Kumar said.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Narsingi police, in coordination with Cyberabad’s Special Operations Team (SOT) and Excise department officials, conducted a raid on a farmhouse owned by Raj Pakala in Janwada.
As many as 21 males and 14 females were found at the farmhouse party, where foreign liquor was served to guests without obtaining any permission from the public excise department, according to a statement issued by police. During the raid, officials discovered seven unauthorized foreign liquor and 10 Indian liquor bottles.
