Telangana BJP announces candidates for Teacher & Graduate MLC Constituencies

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana has announced its candidates for the upcoming MLC elections. The candidates are Puli Sarottham Reddy for the MLC Teachers' Constituency (Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam), Malka Komaraiah for the MLC Teachers' Constituency (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak), and C. Anji Reddy for the MLC Graduates' Constituency (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak). All three candidates have extensive backgrounds in education and community service. Sarottham Reddy has a long career in education, Komaraiah is a school founder, and Anji Reddy is an entrepreneur and social worker. Their selection was guided by BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidates for the upcoming MLC elections. G. Kishan Reddy, the state president and Union Minister of Coal and Mines, revealed the names of the two teacher and graduate constituencies on January 10, 2025.

The candidates are as follows:

1. MLC Teachers’ Constituency (Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam) – Puli Sarottham Reddy (Warangal)
2. MLC Teachers’ Constituency (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak) – Malka Komaraiah (Peddapally)
3. MLC Graduates’ Constituency (Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak) – C. Anji Reddy (Sangareddy)

Candidate Profiles:

Puli Sarottham Reddy (Warangal) – A veteran educator, Sarottham Reddy served as a school assistant for over 21 years and a headmaster for over a decade. He was the General Secretary of the PRTU from 2012 to 2019 and played an active role in the Telangana statehood movement as part of the Teachers’ Joint Action Committee. Sarottham Reddy has been committed to addressing long-standing issues affecting teachers.

Malka Komaraiah (Peddapally) – A graduate of Osmania University, Komaraiah has made significant contributions to education by founding several schools in Peddapally, Nirmal, and Hyderabad. He is the Chairman of the Pallavi Group of Institutions in Hyderabad and has worked to improve the quality of education at the grassroots level. His extensive experience in the field drives his vision for Telangana’s educational development.

C. Anji Reddy (Sangareddy) – Anji Reddy, a BA Maths graduate, is an entrepreneur and social worker from Ramchandrapuram in Medak district. He has been involved in various initiatives, including the SR Trust, which works to provide drinking water to rural areas and improve educational opportunities for underprivileged communities. His wife, Godavari Anji Reddy, is the current president of BJP’s Sangareddy district.

These candidates have been selected under the guidance of BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda for the upcoming Legislative Council elections in Telangana.
