Bribery scandal: Telangana BC Commission employee loses job after ACB trap

Hyderabad: Four days after Golla Srinivas, an outsourcing employee of Telangana Commission for Backward Classes, was caught accepting a bribe by the Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB), the commission terminated the tainted employee on Monday.
In a statement, the Telangana Commission for Backward Classes informed that they have terminated the services of G. Srinivas, who was employed as a Research Assistant on an outsourcing basis.
Going further into details, on 7 February 2025, Accused Officer (AO) Golla Srinivas, an outsourcing employee working at the office of the Chairman, Telangana Commission for Backward Classes, Khairatabad, Hyderabad, was caught by ACB, City Range-2 Unit when he demanded and accepted Rs 1,00,000 as bribe from the complainant as first installment for showing official favour i.e. “to process the file related to the Complainant’s Caste”.
The Accused Officer thereby performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.The bribe amount was recovered from the AO at his instance. Both hand fingers of the AO yielded positive in the chemical test, said ACB officials.
“This decision follows his apprehension by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The outsourcing agency has been informed and instructed to take necessary action,” said the statement released by the Telangana Backward Commission.
AO Golla Srinivas, an Outsourcing employee at the Telangana Commission for Backward Classes, Khairatabad, Hyderabad, was arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Nampally, Hyderabad. Further case is under investigation.
