Madhapur Police Book Telangana Basketball Secretary in Minor Harassment Case

HYDERABAD: Madhapur police registered a case against Telangana Basketball Association general secretary Prudveeshwar Reddy over allegations that he made obscene gestures, sexually coloured remarks and caste-related comments against a minor girl during basketball tournaments between February 2024 and June 2026. Police have started an investigation, as reported by DC.
The case reached Madhapur police after RC Puram police station transferred a Zero FIR. The victim’s mother filed the complaint. She alleged that the incidents took place during several basketball tournaments across Telangana.
According to the complaint, the accused made vulgar hand gestures towards the minor and other female players during a tournament in Utnoor, Jogulamba Gadwal district. He also allegedly passed sexually coloured remarks.
The complainant alleged that Prudveeshwar Reddy repeatedly humiliated the girl by making comments about her body and caste. She said he made these remarks during several tournaments, including one held at a sports academy in Madhapur.
The complaint also mentioned another tournament in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. It alleged that the accused continued to harass the victim with obscene and abusive language after she questioned his behaviour. He also allegedly questioned her participation in the tournament.
Police registered the case based on the complaint and the transferred Zero FIR. Officials said they are investigating the allegations and will take further action based on the findings.
