Telangana Anti-Narcotics raid uncovers drug abuse in Club
Gachibowli: The sleuths of Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) conducted a late night ride on the Cave Club of Manikonda on Saturday.
On credible information late night on Saturday along with Cyberabad police and excise officials conducted raids in the Cave Club, bar and lounge. Reportedly, around 24 individuals out of the 55 present in the club tested positive for ganja. Further reports are emerging that some have also tested positive for cocaine and Methamphetamine. The police have collected the blood samples of all the people who were present at the time of raids to test for the presence of a narcotic substance. Further a case has been booked under NDPS act and efforts are in progress to identify the suppliers for the drugs.
Two days ago with a tip of TGANB officials arrested a drug peddler Suresh Singh alias Tinku Singh who came to Koti to sell Ganja to medical students, who are his regular customers. Further police have seized 10 sachets of ganja weighing 80 grams from his possession. A case was registered under NDPS Act-1985 at Sultan Bazar Police Station, Hyderabad. Further police also identified four medical students who consumed ganja and efforts are in progress to identify other medical students who consumed drugs.
TGANB officials appealed to the public that in recent times we have seen several youth/students getting addicted to Drugs, committing crime and involving in other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace.
