Telangana government, BCCI plans cricket stadium near proposed Skill University: Revanth Reddy

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announces the state’s plan to implement the best sports policy in the country, aimed at encouraging all sports and ensuring job security for athletes. Revanth Reddy also said that discussions on constructing a new world class cricket stadium near the proposed Skill University at Meerkhanpet. He added that the initial discussions regarding the same are already completed.
Revanth Reddy recalls the unprecedented allocation of ₹321 crore in the Telangana Budget 2024 to promote sports. The Chief Minister emphasizes the importance of instilling confidence among the youth that excelling in sports can lead to high-level jobs and enhance family honor.
Group 1 jobs to Mohammed Siraj and Nikhat Zareen
During the assembly session, the Chief Minister addresses the members’ concerns regarding providing Group 1 government jobs and 600 square yards plots to Telangana sports icons, boxer Nikhat Zareen and cricketer Mohammed Siraj. Shooter Esha Singh also set to receive the plot in Hyderabad. He also announces the establishment of a Sports Hub, along with a Skill University, Health Hub, and Education Hub in the proposed Net Zero City. The Chief Minister outlines plans to construct sports complexes in all districts across the state, aiming to increase sports activities and keep the youth away from drug abuse.

Revanth Reddy also expresses the state’s intention to revive the tradition of organizing sports activities during every budget session, engaging all-party members. He further reveals the government’s decision to build another international cricket stadium in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister underscores the state’s commitment to fostering a sporting culture and providing necessary support to athletes.

Regarding the cricket stadium he further added, land will allocated to BCCI to construct the best cricket stadium near this new proposed city with all facilities. Revanth Reddy further said that there are plans to shift National Construction Academy to the same place where they laid foundation for Skill University in Meerkhanpet of Kandukur mandal.
