Ram Charan's Film Peddi Poster As Telangana Approves Enhanced Ticket Prices And Special Show Permissions

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has allowed higher ticket prices for the Telugu film Peddi, starring Ram Charan, ahead of its release on June 4.

The Home Department issued a memo on June 2 approving a request from Mythri Movie Makers. As a result, theatres across Telangana can charge enhanced ticket rates for the film.

The government has also permitted one special show at 8.00 p.m. on June 3. Theatre owners can charge ₹600 per ticket, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), for the special screening.

In addition, the government has approved a ticket price hike for regular shows. Single-screen theatres can charge ₹100 extra per ticket, while multiplexes can charge ₹125 more. These revised rates will remain in effect from June 4 to June 13.

During this period, theatre operators can screen up to five shows a day.

Welfare fund contribution mandatory

The government has asked theatre managements to contribute 20 per cent of the additional revenue generated through the ticket hike to the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation Welfare Association.

The contribution will support the welfare of workers in the Telugu film industry. Meanwhile, the Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) will operate a separate account for the fund.

Theatres must follow conditions

The government has directed theatres to display advertisements on the dangers of narcotics, drug abuse and cybercrime.

Furthermore, it has instructed District Collectors, Commissioners of Police and cinema licensing authorities to monitor compliance with all conditions.

According to the order, the government granted permission under existing rules that govern special ticket price revisions for films in Telangana.
