Telangana clears higher ticket rates for Akhanda 2

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has approved a temporary hike in cinema ticket rates for Akhanda 2, allowing theatres to charge higher prices for three days from the release date.

Government permits ₹600 special show

The state permitted a special show at 8pm on December 4, with the ticket price fixed at ₹600.

Three-day hike across theatres

According to the government order, single-screen theatres can raise ticket rates by ₹50 and multiplexes by ₹100 for three days from the day of release.

20% share to welfare body

The government stipulated that 20% of the increased ticket revenue must be paid to the Movie Artists Welfare Association. It remains to be determined whether the producers of Akhanda 2 have complied with this condition.
