Telangana ACB traps officials in Khammam, Nirmal bribery cases

HYDERABAD: Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau officials on Tuesday caught two government employees in separate trap cases in Khammam and Nirmal districts for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes for official work.
Revenue inspector held in Khammam case
In the first case, Vusa Subha Kameshwari, revenue inspector in the Tahsildar Office at Karepalli mandal in Khammam district, was caught while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant.
ACB officials said the accused demanded the money for verification, attestation and forwarding of a family member certificate required for the mutation of land records from the complainant’s grandfather to his father.
A case was registered and further investigation is underway.
Health department official trapped in Nirmal
In a separate incident, ACB officials arrested G Bheemanna, senior assistant and in-charge of the Primary Health Centre at Thanur in Bhainsa mandal of Nirmal district.
The accused allegedly demanded and accepted ₹9,000 through PhonePe from a complainant for preparing General Provident Fund bills, surrender leave bills, Fixed Travelling Allowance bills and medical reimbursement claims.
ACB officials said a case was registered and further probe was in progress.
ACB appeal to public
The Anti-Corruption Bureau appealed to the public to report any demand for bribes by public servants by calling the toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp at 9440446106, Facebook page Telangana ACB, X handle @TelanganaACB, or the official website.
Officials said the identity of complainants and victims would be kept confidential.
