KAMAREDDY: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught a sub-inspector of police while allegedly demanding and accepting a ₹30,000 bribe at his residence in Rajampet.

According to the ACB, Duvvala Anjaneyulu, sub-inspector of police at Rajampet police station in Kamareddy district, was caught red-handed on August 20, 2026, while accepting the bribe from a complainant.

The officer allegedly demanded the money in return for giving station bail to the complainant’s son and extending further favour while filing the charge sheet in the case.

The ACB said it recovered the tainted ₹30,000 from Anjaneyulu at his instance.

The agency said the officer accepted the undue advantage and thereby acted dishonestly and improperly in the discharge of his public duties. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.

The ACB said Anjaneyulu was arrested and would be produced before the II Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

The ACB urged people to report demands for bribes by public servants on its toll-free number 1064. It said complainants’ identities would be kept secret.

The ACB can also be contacted through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and its social media platforms, including Facebook and X.
