Telangana ACB Catches 2 Taking ₹1 Lakh Bribe for CMRF Claim

Acb Catches Two Telangana Officials Taking 1 Lakh Bribe In Cmrf Case

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught two government employees allegedly accepting a ₹1 lakh bribe to process a medical reimbursement claim under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) scheme.

The accused are Raghavender Anandeshi, an outsourcing employee at the Telangana Secretariat, and Medi Vinod, a senior assistant at the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (TSIIC).

The ACB said the duo demanded money to process the complainant’s medical reimbursement claims. The claims included a cheque for a sanctioned amount of ₹2 lakh and the processing of the remaining claim.

Raghavender had earlier demanded ₹5,000 from the complainant. The complainant allegedly paid the amount to Vinod through a PhonePe transaction.

On September 10, ACB officials from City Range-II caught Vinod while he allegedly accepted ₹1 lakh from the complainant. He then handed the money to Raghavender, the agency said.

ACB officials later recovered the tainted cash from Raghavender at his instance.

The agency alleged that the two employees misused their official positions to obtain an undue advantage.

The accused are being produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The investigation is underway.

The ACB withheld the complainant’s details for security reasons.

The agency urged people to report bribe demands by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. It also accepts complaints through WhatsApp and social media platforms and assured that it would keep complainants’ identities confidential.
