Telangana ACB traps irrigation engineer taking ₹50,000 bribe in Hanamkonda

WARANGAL: Officials of the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday caught an Irrigation and Command Area Development (I&CAD) divisional executive engineer allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 at his residence in Bhavani Nagar, Hanamkonda.

The accused, Ganti Srikanth, is currently posted as divisional executive engineer at Palakurthi.

According to ACB officials, Srikanth allegedly demanded the bribe to record final measurements in Measurement Books (M-books) and process pending bills related to official works.

Acting on a complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the engineer red-handed while allegedly accepting the money at his residence. The tainted cash was recovered during the operation.

The accused was arrested and will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Warangal.

Further investigation is underway.
