Telangana govt notifies general, optional holidays for 2025

Telangana Holidays 2025 List

Hyderabad: The Telangana State government notified a list of general and optional holidays for the upcoming year 2025 on Saturday.

All state government offices will remain closed on all Sundays and second Saturdays in 2025, except the second Saturday in the month of February 2025, which will be a working day in lieu of the January 1 public holiday, according to the notification.

General holidays include New Year, Bhogi, Sankranti festival, Republic day, Maha Shivaratri, Holi, Good Friday, Ugadi, Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramzan), following day of Ramzan, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday, Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday, Sri Rama Navami, Independence day, Vinayaka Chavithi, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi, Vijaya Dasami, Deepavali, and Christmas.

Optional holidays include Kanumu, Sri Panchami, Shab-e-Barat, Hazrath Ali (RA)’s birthday, Mahaveer Jayanthi, Varalakshmi Vratham, Shab-e-Meraj, Tamil New Year’s Day, Durgashtami, Muharram, Buddha Purnima, Parsi New Year’s Day, and others.

April 1: Following day of Eid-ul-Fitr

April 6: Sri Rama Navami

April 14: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday

April 18: Good Friday

June 7: Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid)

July 6: Shahadat Imam Hussain 10th Muharam

July 21: Bonalu

August 15: Independence Day

August 18: Sri Krishna Astami

August 27: Vinayaka Chavithi

September 5: Eid Milad un Nabi

September 21: Bathukamma starting day

October 2: Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi/Vijaya Dasami

October 3: Following day of Vijaya Dasami

November 6: Kartika Purnima/Guru Nanak’s birthday
