Commissioner’s task force raids illegal liquor establishments in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The Commissioner’s Task Force conducted early morning raids on belt shops and bars in Hyderabad. Acting on credible information, officers targeted establishments serving liquor in Banjara Hills, Borabanda, and Chikkadapally police jurisdictions.
During the operation, authorities apprehended three individuals. They seized 48 liters of liquor valued at Rs. 1.06 lakhs. The raids occurred in response to violations of the Telangana Excise Act and related regulations.
Details of raids and arrests
The first case was registered at Banjara Hills Police Station under TS Excise Act. The second case was at Borabanda Police Station. The third case involved Excise PS Musheerabad, registered under U/s.31(1)(b) of TS Excise Act-1968 R/w. 15 TS Bar Rules-2006.
The accused individuals are Chittuluri Srinivas, a 48-year-old pan shop owner from Indira Nagar, Banjara Hills. V. Narsimha, a 45-year-old laborer from Vinayak Nagar, Borabanda, also faces charges. M. Mallesh, a 34-year-old private employee at a bar and restaurant from Sai Krishna Nagar Colony, Ramanthpur, is the third accused.
Authorities seized 48 liters of liquor worth Rs. 1,06,000 from these individuals. The accused revealed they purchased liquor from local shops and resold it at higher prices after closing hours.
The Blue Heavens Restaurant & Bar, located within Musheerabad Police Station limits, operated illegally by serving liquor at 6:30 AM, violating Excise Department regulations. The accused profited by selling liquor during non-permitted hours.

Legal actions and further steps
The accused have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action. The raids were supervised by Inspectors E. Jangaiah of the West Zone and N. Ramakrishna of the Central Zone, along with the staff of the Commissioner’s Task Force Hyderabad.
