Task Force Finds Expired Food

HYDERABAD: The task force team conducted inspections in Rebel Foods Private Limited, ITC Limited in SR Nagar, Ameerpet on Saturday. The inspection aimed to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and identify any potential violations.

Rebel Foods Private Limited

At Rebel Foods Private Limited in SR Nagar, Ameerpet, the team discovered several issues. The FSSAI license true copy was not displayed at the premises. The Food Business Operator (FBO) was operating the same kitchen to offer online food services under 27 other listed brands, claiming it as a multi-brand kitchen. Expired food articles, including Peri Peri Sprinkler Seasoning (1kg), Frozen Baby Potato (1kg), Green Cabbage (2kg), and Garlic Bread Seasoning Sachets (100 units), were found in the storeroom.

Food handlers were found wearing hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. However, some food articles stored in the refrigerator were not labeled properly. Despite these issues, pest control records and Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers were available. The water analysis report for the RO water used for food preparation was also available. Additionally, one FoStaC-trained supervisor was present at the premises.

ITC Limited

At ITC Limited in SR Nagar, Ameerpet, the FSSAI license true copy was displayed at the premises. The FBO was operating the same kitchen to offer online food services under the brands ITC MasterChef, Sunfeast Baked Creations, and Aashirwad Soul Creations. Food handlers were found wearing hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. Raw food articles and semi-prepared foods stored in steel containers were covered and labeled properly.

Pest control records and Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers were available. The water analysis report for the RO water used for food preparation was also available. One FoStaC-trained supervisor was present at the premises.

The inspections revealed significant differences in compliance between the two cloud kitchens. Rebel Foods had several violations, including not displaying the FSSAI license, using expired food articles, and improper labeling of food articles. In contrast, ITC Limited complied with most regulations, ensuring proper labeling, displaying the FSSAI license, and maintaining hygiene standards.
