Task force team busts bike-born mobile snatching gang in Secunderabad
Secunderabad: The North zone task force team busted a bikeborn mobile snatching gang and arrested Six members of the gang, including four juveniles, in conflict with the law. The police claimed to have detected three cases. Another three who bought the stolen mobile were also arrested.
The police identified the accused persons- Katekala Rohan Raj(19) alias Shiva, V.D. Vivian Raj(19), and four boy juveniles, residents in the vicinity of Lalbazar and Trimulgherry.
To make quick bucks the accused formed a gang under the leadership of Katekala Rohan Raj. Further the accused resorted to rob or steal cell phones, sell the stolen property, and gain easy money.
Revealing the three cases in which the gang was involved Hyderabad police in an official statement said, “On Earlier this month, the accused Katekala Rohan Rajalong with his gang, while riding a two wheeler robbed a Poco cell phone from a passerby and sold it to receiver Yugen Alex. On the following day, the same group used the two wheeler to steal two cell phones from a house, selling one to Narpat Singh (mobile shop owner at Tirumalgiri) and the other to an unknown person. Two days later, Katekala Rohan Raj and two juveniles boy, used a two wheeler to rob a Vivo cell phone from a passerby near Clock Tower, Secunderabad, and sold it to receiver Sirigiri Raj Kumar, a mobile shop owner at Neredmet. All the three who bought the stolen mobile were also arrested.
Hyderabad police advisory
Hyderabad police advised the public to be more cautious while talking on mobile phones on roads during night hours or in lonely places. And warned the Mobile shop owners not to purchase cell phones without bills, particularly from unknown/suspicious persons. If any such persons are encountered, they should be immediately reported to the local police, added Hyderabad police.
