Telangana man devastated by daughter Tanya Soni’s death in IAS Delhi coaching center

Hyderabad: Vijay Kumar, a deputy general manager with Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) based in Mancherial, Telangana, is inconsolable after the tragic death of his eldest daughter, Tanya Soni. The 23-year-old UPSC aspirant was among three students who drowned in the flooded basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, on Saturday.
Tanya, along with Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh and Nivin Dalwin from Kerala, were preparing for the civil services examination.
The family was traveling to Lucknow when they received the news. They immediately cut short their journey and rushed to Delhi. “I have no words to express my grief. Tanya was a highly motivated and diligent student. She had graduated from Delhi University and was dedicated to her UPSC preparation. We spoke every day,” said Vijay Kumar, Tanya Soni’s father.
It was learned that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy enquired about the death of Tanya Soni at Delhi’s private coaching institute.
The Chief Minister’s Office has announced that arrangements are being made to send Tania Soni’s body to her home state of Bihar. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is also providing necessary assistance to Vijay Kumar’s family in their time of need.
