Tandur Sub-Registrar, Two Others Held by ACB for ₹16,500 Bribe Demand

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on December 3, 2025, arrested a junior assistant functioning as in charge sub-registrar of the Sub-Registrar Office (SRO), Tandur, after he was caught while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹16,500 for processing registration-related work.

Officials said Sal Kumar, junior assistant and in-charge sub-registrar (AO-1), sought the bribe for handing over four documents registered a week earlier and for registering seven pending documents.

According to the ACB, the amount was collected on behalf of AO-1 by D Saikumar, document writer at Balaji Associates (A-2), through D Ashok, assistant document writer (A-3). The bribe money of ₹16,500 was recovered from A-2.

Officials said AO-1 acted “improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage”.

ACB stated that all three accused were arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally. The complainant’s identity has been withheld for security reasons.

The Bureau urged the public to report bribe demands by calling the toll-free number 1064 or contacting ACB Telangana on WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) or X (@TelanganaACB). The agency reiterated that complainants’ details will remain confidential.
