T-Hub, Indian Army Central Command partner to deploy defence startup solutions

Thub
HYDERABAD: T-Hub has partnered with the Central Command of the Indian Army to create a direct pathway for defence startups to develop, validate and deploy solutions for active military requirements.

Under the partnership, T-Hub will receive problem statements from the Central Command and identify startups capable of addressing them. The selected founders will work with Army stakeholders to develop technologies and incorporate operational feedback.

A joint oversight committee will supervise programme execution and engagements between startups and Army stakeholders.

Tie-up builds on T-Hub’s Command-level defence network

The partnership builds on T-Hub’s existing engagement with the Western Command of the Indian Army. T-Hub said the two Command-level relationships place it among a select group of organisations with direct relationships with Army Commands.

Kavikrut, CEO, T-Hub, said, “What founders need is direct engagement with end users to ensure their technologies meet real deployment conditions. This collaboration creates that pathway. This partnership reflects strong confidence in the calibre of Indian defence startups and in Hyderabad’s ability to build technologies that can address critical requirements.”

T-Hub will support startups through product development, technology validation and market readiness. It will also work with Army stakeholders to incorporate operational feedback and meet deployment requirements.

iDEX programme has supported more than 100 defence startups

T-Hub is one of 28 organisations selected to implement the Ministry of Defence-led Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) scheme. The organisation said it has engaged more than 100 defence startups and hosted over 70 iDEX challenges.

According to T-Hub, startups in its defence ecosystem have secured commercial defence orders worth more than ₹250 crore through iDEX. The programme has also supported them with more than ₹4.2 crore in grants and ₹9 crore worth of proof-of-concept deliveries.

The partnership is intended to help defence startups move from military problem statements to solutions that can be deployed in the field.
