Suspended inspector Sai Venkata Kishore extortion case

Miyapur: Startling details emerge in the graft case of Mattaparti Sai Venkata Kishore which is being investigated by the Anti corruption Bureau(ACB). The law enforcement agency caught the suspended Inspector of Police, Central Crime Station(CCS), Sangareddy while taking a bribe of five lakhs.

The tainted official blatantly misused his official position and stole documents from the complainant Merugu Ravi alias Ravi Goud, Real Estate and Labour Contractor Businessman. Going further into details, the complainant Ravi was arrested in the criminal case by the accused police officer while he was working with CCS Sangareddy in 2023. “Later the corrupt official who was the investigation officer in the criminal case sought court permission for the custody and search proceedings. Subsequently Venkata Kishore who landed in Ravi’s residence under the pretext of search, stole three property documents of Ravi and didn’t even mention the same in the report submitted to court,” said ACB official privy with the investigation.

The corrupt official allegedly demanded a bribe amount of Rs.1.5 crores after confirming the market value of the three property documents which were stolen by him. “Venkata Kishore verified the value of three properties in the open market which was pegged at Rs.6 crores. Following which he put forward a demand for a kickback of 25 percent of the total value of properties documents which sums up to Rs 1.5 crores,” said ACB official.

Meanwhile Venkata Kishore started harassing Ravi. Subsequently, Merugu Ravi approached the ACB following the harassment of the dishonest official. According to the ACB official statement at the time of arrest, “The corrupt official demanded the graft amount Rs.1.5 crores (out of which he already accepted Rs.10 lakhs) and now demanding the remaining bribe amount as Rs. 1.4 crores,” as the complaint stated he couldn’t pay the demand amount the tainted official reportedly demanded to register two flats of the complainant (situated in Ameenpur) in lieu of Rs. 1.4 crores to return the complainant’s (original) three property documents.

The crooked officials also threatened to book false cases against the complainant by influencing his colleague Inspectors if he didn’t heed to the demands and pay the kickback amount.

“Further, the accused officer also promised the complainant that he will delete his name while filing the charge sheet in the case filed at Ameenpur police station and thus attempted to obtain undue advantage for the performance of public duty, improperly and dishonestly,” said ACB.

The tainted official Mattaparti Sai Venkata Kishore was trapped by the ACB City Range -1 Unit while taking the bribe at Mayur marg, Miyapur and produced before the Ist Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally. Subsequently the ACB also planning to take him into custody and extract more information from the accused.
