Rein Bazar police capture two persons involved in ATM theft case
CHARMINAR: Rein Bazar police on Thursday apprehended two individuals who had entered an ATM center in Yakutpura and obstructed the machine to steal money.
The investigation commenced after the Rein Bazar police station received a complaint from Mahesh Kumar in Hyderabad, stating that certain individuals had inserted an iron object into the ATM exit shutter, hindering the dispensing of money.
A case was registered at the Rein Bazar police station under Cr. No. 45/2024, U/s 420 IPC and 43 r/w 66 and 65 IT Act 2000-2008.
As per the complaint, when a customer tried to withdraw money, the notes were trapped in the inserted object. This led the customer to believe the transaction had failed and to leave the ATM. Following this, the accused individuals entered the ATM center, removed the obstruction, and proceeded to steal the money.
Upon receiving the complaint, the authorities verified various CCTV cameras, developed the footage, and obtained photos of the accused.
The Rein Bazar Police sleuths apprehended the accused persons Tarif Khan (27) – A-1, and Taleb Hussain (34) – A-5, at Bada Bazar, Yakutpura, Hyderabad. They also seized a screwdriver and an iron object used in the commission of the offense. The two persons were produced before the Court on April 4, 2024.
The aforementioned arrest was made under the supervision of P.
